Canada C3 Documentary Screening: Peterborough
Join the Students on Ice Foundation for the screening of SOI’s acclaimed documentary Canada C3 – Canada Coast to Coast to Coast. The inspiring film follows the historic 150-day, 25,000km expedition around Canada’s coastline, from Toronto, Ontario to Victoria, British Columbia via the Northwest Passage. Geoff Green will present the Canada C3 documentary at Market Hall downtown. This will be followed by a panel discussion with invited guests on the interface of research, public engagement, youth education, and reconciliation. Light evening fare will be provided.
Flashback February: Making Waves Film Festival
Re-live the maritime history of The County and Canada with three documentary features.
The first feature is a History Moment on the legendary race boat Miss Supertest, which competed in international races held in Picton in 1959-1961.
Beyond The Horizon tells the story of the discovery in 2014 of the HMS Erebus, one of the lost ships of the doomed Franklin Expedition of 1845.
The main feature is a documentary showcasing the epic journey of the C3, a Canada 150 Signature project that took Canadians on a 150-day expedition on a former icebreaker moving from Toronto to Victoria via The Northwest Passage. Picton was the vessel’s first stop.
A question and answer session with the filmmakers will follow the presentations.

Join us at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema on Thursday, February 21 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM for the Toronto Premiere screening of Canada C3: Coast to Coast to Coast. Followed by a panel discussion with Geoff Green, Anna Gaby-Trotz, Vicky Grant & Jamie Kennedy.
A signature project for Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation, the Canada C3 expedition explored Canada’s past, present and future. Experience the journey through this documentary film and learn about the people and places that make up Canada’ diverse coastline—the longest in the world. Canada C3 – Canada Coast to Coast to Coast delivers emotional, powerful and inspiring messages about science, the environment, truth & reconciliation, youth engagement, diversity and inclusion, all key components in building a better Canada and a better world. Through these lenses, this epic journey served to better connect and deepen understanding amongst diverse Canadians as they shared their stories of community, place, and culture.
Involved in the 15 legs of the expedition was a group of over 400 participants including the Prime Minister of Canada, and millions around the world who participated virtually. C3 is a journey of hope that reinforces how, when we all paddle in the same direction, we can get where we want to go.
