2018 Wipper Lecture
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11, 2018

On Wednesday, April 11, 2018 Geoff Green will deliver the Wipper Lecture at the Canadian Canoe Museum.

Founder of the Students on Ice Foundation and Expedition Leader of the Foundation’s epic 150-day voyage around Canada, Geoff Green sailed from Toronto to Victoria through the Northwest Passage on a re-purposed Coast Guard icebreaker call the Polar Prince. The Canada C3 expedition connected Canadians from coast to coast to coast and brought onboard a birch bark canoe on loan from the Canadian Canoe Museum. On April 11th, Geoff will return the canoe and speak to the canoe’s integral part of this journey.

The Wipper Lecture is an annual talk at the Canadian Canoe Museum, named after early “pioneer of outdoor education” Kirk Wipper who donated his collection of more than 600 watercraft, including canoes and kayaks, which became the basis of the museum.
